My Arts and Science MenTern Lula leading her team

This is the story of how we came to redefine the Design Cycle at Mezzacello Urban Farm. My MenTern, Lula, tasked her team to recreate the design cycle as an animal in the Vet Tech summer camp. They chose the Oroborous.

Why The Snake Eating Its Tail?

The Orobourous is a greek myth that explains how the universe is cyclical. Lula also knows that snakes are a powerful indicator species in any ecology. Their presence is beneficial as they help control pests and keep populations in check.

They added Charles Chickens to the middle to serve as a reminder about both why we need deverse ecologies and protectors. Lastly the snake is a cycle and eating its own tail reminds us to examine, test, modify and try again!
