Water Conservancy and Mindfulness

Wasted Water on an Urban Farm

The beginning of spring 2019. Some fool left the water spigot running on the 300 gallon rain barrel that serves water for my livestock and walked away for 10 minutes. 200 gallons of water potential wasted. The ducks LOVED all the water in the henyard.

I Am The Fool

But for me it serves as a stark reminder to be more mindful of my resources. I haven’t had to dip into city water yet; I still have some reserves. But if I did not, I would be in serious trouble. I was able to dip into the aquatic pond ecosystem for a few mornings too.

I must be more mindful. We all of us should be more mindful. Water isn’t free; you pay in time for rain or in dollars for city water. #LessonLearned
