This post is a section of my fantastic intern, Marcus’, presentation at Columbus Alternative High School. Marcus and I planned this presentation, and Marcus and I taught the first iteration. We succeeded and failed and now we know more. We will be presenting again next Wednesday.
Summer Camp 2025 Wrap Up
The Summer 2025 Camp Season has ended and there were 10 camps that stood out! 10 camps ranging from farming to ecology, power to engineering. Farm animals, biology, recycling and sustainability. We covered it all. Here is a quick review of the camps and their successes.
Ecology Connections Camp Blog
Welcome to the Ecology Connections Camp Blog. In this blog campers will be submitting research and documentation of the work they have done and the STEM concepts they have learned and mastered at this weeks' camp. Each day will have a heading and this will be entirely compiled by campers.
Language and the Power of Reframing
This lesson started out as a lesson in learning how to look at data and systems from new perspectives and turned into a mad lib of data synthesis. This was actually a great deal of fun and it is a new tool I will be using with students. The game is called “Coin Purse” for maximum absurdity and permission to be creative with language and the power of reframing.

In this recipe we decided to reframe the classic blueberry galette recipe to something far more versatile. Rick made a filling for an extra galette that wasn’t used. Rather than feed it to the chickens, I decided to package it into The Foodist: Blueberry, Nutmeg, Cinnamon Fruit Sachets. Delight!
